Budapest Day 2

Walked along the Danube with the old town of Buda on one side and the old town of Pest on the other. Determined cyclists well wrapped in winter coats and gloves sharing the paths with us. Watch out behind!! The Gellert Baths our first destination. Mineral water thermal pools both indoors and out in a very elaborate setting renowned for generations. After soaking in the soothing waters (good for sore knees!), we had a lovely repast of goose liver pâté and a latte in the Expresso Cafe of the Gellert Hotel. How civilized. We continued our walk to the market. Paprika, paprika, paprika and vegetables and fruit displayed with artistic flair. On every street the buildings towering over us, each one more decorative and grand than the last. The elegance of Europe. At the hotel we had the full focus of our tour company rep as we are the only two on this trip. Yes, we do deserve the attention! Dinner of crispy duck leg and Brussels sprouts in mustard and mushroom sauce at the Bohemia Restaurant in Liszt Square. Would recommend this spot to anyone.

  1. I hope you bought some paprika..it looks like it wouldn't take up much space. How cool that you will discover spring as you travel...I look forward to the next update
