Prague Day 2

The day started off on a bus tour which is a marvellous orientation for a new city. A rainy windy time so after a quick look at the changing of the guard, we holed up in the Prague Castle coffee shop with a frothy cappuccino. The guide joined us too! The sun came out as we stopped by the famous astronomical clock. Great for the newly married couple who had a kiss in a horse drawn carriage in front of the clock amidst the throngs of congratulatory tourists. Our local host told us that this town hall is a favourite place for Russian folks to tie the knot. I was thrilled when we located a woman in a market who was making some of the famous Czech glass beads. Of course, I now have an amazing supply to play with during my time off this summer. We finished off the afternoon with breaded fried Edam cheese and hermelin cheese which is a Camembert type marinated for a week with garlic, chili peppers and spices. We hear that the Czech people use it to soak up the beer!
